About our Adopt-A-Family:

Shelley became foster mom to her grandchildren earlier this year. Shelley loves her family very much and wants what is best for them. She is constantly going out of her way to make sure everyone has everything that they need emotionally and physically.

Since the kids’ arrival, most of Shelley’s income has been going towards diapers and childcare for the youngest ones, as well as food and other necessities for the family. In an effort to make ends meet, Shelley and the kids have moved twice in the past year, downsizing both times in order to save some money. This has been a stressful process, as Shelley and the kids have no other family members nearby that they can rely on during the moves or other hectic times, such as pickups and drop-offs for daycare or sports practices, or doctor appointments.

Now in a very small apartment, the family feels cramped at times. Because of this, Liam especially loves to play outside, even in cold weather. Sometimes he brings along his younger siblings. The children’s limited clothing options do not always offer the warmth they need.

On top of that, the family experienced a car accident a few months ago. They are grateful that there were only minor injuries, but the car was a total loss. The costs associated with purchasing a replacement vehicle, as well as health expenses from the accident, have been overwhelming.

To help their family, Hailey and Jacob are working part-time jobs on top of going to school to help pay for food and clothes.
